Dr Harvey has almost 30 years of experience working in educational settings, including public and private schools. Her diverse experience includes SLD assessment and diagnosis, educational assessment (literacy, math, writing and spelling skills), ADHD and ASD screening and assessment, counselling, research and professional consulting.
Dr Harvey works with children, adolescents and adults. Originally a primary school teacher, she then moved into special education, working with primary-aged students with challenging behaviours. While completing a Doctorate in Educational Psychology, Dr Harvey worked as a educational psychologist in primary, secondary and tertiary educational settings, as well as various community organisations including SPELD Victoria. Dr Harvey lectured at the University of Melbourne, topics included ADHD, specific learning disorders (dyslexia) and managing challenging behaviours. She also worked as a research fellow and research design manager for over 10 years, so has a solid understanding of the essential qualities of evidence-based practices and programs.
Dr Harvey specialises in the assessment and diagnosis of specific learning disorders for children, adolescents and adults in the North Western region of Melbourne, Victoria. She also offers assessments for ADHD, ASD, Giftedness, Intellectual disabiltiy and General learning difficulties.
