Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments

Dr Harvey is an educational psychologist who specialises in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD for children, adolescents and adults (aged 6 onward). Collaboration with a paediatrician and/or psychiatrist is generally part of this assessment process.

ADHD is a life span disorder and the presentation of symptoms can change over time. This assessment involves collecting information from parents and teachers and depending on their age, the student themselves. The testing undertaken takes into consideration any previous assessments that may have previously been completed.

For adults seeking an assessment, retrospective data is collected and a person well known to them (such as a parent or partner) may also be asked to complete a number of questionnaires.

Tests administered may include:

• Selected subtests from the Woodcock Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities
• Selected subtests from the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition (WISC-V)
• Comprehensive Executive Function Inventory (CEFI)
• Brown Executive Function/Attention Scales 
• ADHD Rating Scale-5
• Barkley Adult ADHD Rating Scale-IV (BAARS-IV
